MADS EGEBERG HVIDTFELDT

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host artist Mads Egeberg Hvidtfeldt (1989 in Denmark). He studied at Städelschule in Frankfurt and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Mads works in various mediums, with digital art and painting as his predominant fields of practice. In his work, Mads aims to use the visual vocabulary accumulated throughout history and integrate it with scenes from his immediate surroundings in the present. His interest lies in the deeper narratives hidden in these images and the cultural norms of image-making that are reproduced again and again. By delving into conventions, archetypes, and the repetitions prevalent in our visual culture, he seeks to gain insights into his identity within the broader context of society and its expectations. Mads currently lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark and will be staying in Studio Azul during December 2023.
