HOCK
Within the Artists-in- Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Erika Hock. Hock was born in 1981 in Dschangi - Dscher, Kirgisistan. She is currently working and living in Cologne, and will be staying in Studio Verde during July 2019.
She finished her studies of Visual Arts in 2009 at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and her Postgraduate Program in 2013 at HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts). She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany as well as in Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, United Kingdom, South Korea and Italy.
Erika Hock’s practice is characterized by the fluid crossover in between sculptural and architectural elements. Her interest extends into tapestries and furniture, which investigate meeting points between history, society and culture. Her structures reflect our changing relationships with how we navigate time and space as well as the modernist heritage.
