SEBASTIAN HAMMWÖHNER

 

 

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Sebastian Hammwöhner, who is staying in Studio XX during May 2019.

Sebastian Hammwöhner was born in 1974 in Frenchen, Germany, and today he lives and works in Berlin.


He studied at State Academy of Visual Arts, Karlsruhe from 1995-2001, and he has taken Masterclasses with Prof. Helmut Dorner.

Hammwöhner’s multifaceted work includes site-specific installations, pastel drawings and sculptures. He utilizes appropriation with the forensic methods of cultural anthropology and the contextual chess games of contemporary art.
